The SAVE Act, also known as the SAVE America Act, has stalled in the United States Senate. It has not become law. Recent efforts to push it forward failed, and right now, it does not have the support needed to pass.
That is a big deal.
This did not happen by accident. It happened because people like you paid attention, spoke up, and stayed engaged. Across the country, voters, advocates, and everyday citizens made it clear that any proposal that could make it harder for eligible Americans to vote deserves scrutiny and opposition.
Your voice mattered. Your actions mattered. And they still do.
At OneV, we believe in protecting and expanding access to the ballot. The SAVE Act raised serious concerns about barriers to voter registration and participation. Together, we helped shine a light on those concerns and made sure they were heard.
Right now, we are in a positive place. The bill is stalled. Momentum has slowed. Lawmakers are focused elsewhere. That is worth celebrating. But we cannot mistake this moment for the end of the fight.
Legislation like this can come back in different forms. It can be reintroduced, amended, or attached to other bills. Similar policies are already being discussed in states across the country. The reality is simple. The right to vote must be protected again and again.
That means staying vigilant.
It means continuing to pay attention to what is happening at every level of government. It means speaking up when policies threaten access to the ballot. And it means supporting organizations that are doing the work every day to protect American democracy.
