Competing VT House Candidates in Seesaw Series of Events

In the 2010 Vermont House of Representatives election for the Windsor-Orange 1 District, on the initial count, challenger Sarah Buxton led incumbent David Ainsworth 882 to 881. On a recount, they were tied, with one mailed-in military vote for Buxton rejected. After Buxton appealed and the Superior Court ruled that vote valid, Buxton won by one vote (881–880). Amazingly, their fourth matchup in 2016 would again be decided by one vote, but with the result reversed. #VotingMatters #2018Midterms #Vermont
