Close Election in Southern Ohio

In the 2004 Republican primary for the 14th District (southern Ohio) seat of the Ohio State Senate, Tom Niehaus beat Jean Schmidt. Initially, Schmidt appeared to have won by 62 votes. However, a recount awarded Niehaus the election by 22 votes (out of more than 34,000 cast) and he went on to win the general election. #VotingMatters #2018Midterms #Ohio
